No One Knows is based around the main character of Aubrey Hamilton, whose husband has been missing for 5 years when the book begins. At the beginning of the book, Aubrey’s mother-in-law Daisy, has petitioned the State of Tennessee to officially rule her husband Josh dead. The story is told through flashbacks, from present to past, and from several different character’s perspectives. Aubrey’s flashbacks tell us the story of the day leading up to Josh’s disappearance and what happened afterwards.

This is the first book I have read by the author, but I really enjoyed it. I am a big fan of Gillian Flynn, so this author and this book was recommended to be. Overall, I really enjoyed the book. I enjoyed the author’s writing style and it was easy to follow, even with the different perspectives and flashbacks. I thought that all of the characters were very well developed, especially the main character Aubrey. I felt like we really got to know her, as well as her life after Josh, everything from her job as a teacher to how she was trying to deal with the entire situation. We find out early in the book that Aubrey had been a suspect at one point, had been put through a trial and was found not guilty. The book has several twists and turns, which you may or may not see coming. Some of them I was surprised by and some I saw coming. By the end of the book, a few of the plot twists were a bit over the top. Overall, I thought it was a well written book, a good psychological thriller with well developed characters. I believe if you are a fan of psychological thrillers like “Gone Girl” and “The Girl on the Train” you would really enjoy this novel as well.I plan to read more by this author in the future.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.
