May Wrap Up

I read a total of 10 books this month; I read more e-books then I normally do because I had so many on hold from my library’s e-lending program and then I had a few ARC’s. So I had to do sort of a photo collage for my May Wrap Up because of all the e-books. Overall, this was a good month of reading and I read a few books that I really loved!

“The Girls” by Emma Cline (ARC) 4/5 stars

“Maybe, Someday” by Colleen Hoover 5/5 stars

“Maybe Not” by Colleen Hoover 5/5 stars

“November Not” by Colleen Hoover 5/5 stars

“Carry On, Warrior: The Power of Embracing Your Messy, Beautiful Life” by Glennon Doyle Melton 5/5 stars

“The Beach” by Alex Garland 3/5 stars

“With Malice” by Eileen Cook (ARC) 4/5 stars

“Me Before You” by Jojo Moyes 4/5 stars

“Missing, Presumed: A Novel” by Susie Steiner (ARC) 3/5 stars

“The Crown’s Game” by Eyelyn Skye 4/5

My favorites this month were everything I read by Colleen Hoover, because she is amazing – “Maybe, Someday”, “Maybe Not” and “November 9”. I honestly have yet to read anything she has written that I did not love. There are two series by her that I haven’t read yet, Slammed and Hopeless, which I need to buy/read ASAP. I also really loved two of the ARC’s I received this month, “The Girls” by Emma Cline (release date of June 14th) and “With Malice” by Eileen Cook (release date of June 7th). I normally can get pretty much any ARC I want in e-book form (I do not have enough blog/Twitter/Instagram followers yet where publishers want to send me physical copies of books that often) but I had work pretty hard to get an advanced reading copy of “With Malice”, but it was certainly worth the extra work. Big thanks to the people over at HMH Books for Young Readers! “Carry On, Warrior” by Glennon Doyle Melton is an amazing book that I want to buy for every woman in my life. See my previous blog post for the full review. And last but not least, I read “The Crown’s Game” by Evelyn Skye with one of my Goodreads reading groups, “Read With Tessa” hosted by @mouireads on Instagram. And I really enjoyed that as well. YA fantasy is a genre that I am getting into more this year, as I barely read anything in the YA fantasy/fantasy genre in the past.

I’m also reading lots of great books this coming month and several are with reading groups on Goodreads and on Instagram. If you are interested, come be my friends on Goodreads or Instagram (Mrsreadsbooks) to join, happy reading!
