October Wrap Up

I definitely read less this month then I normally do because my husband and I finally bought a house! We close in a few weeks, but things were busy with inspections and starting to organize and pack. I read a total of 10 books this month, most being ARCs or review copies that I am trying to catch up on. The books at the top are from my personal TBR and I either own or borrowed from the library’s e-lending programs and the books at the bottom are ARCs or review copies from publishers!

Without Merit by Colleen Hoover  4/5 stars

How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff  4/5 stars

Reckless (Amato Brothers #2) by Winter Renshaw  3/5 stars

Green Mama-to-Be: Creating a Happy, Healthy and Toxin Free Pregnancy by Manda Aufochs Gillespie  4/5 stars

Fierce Kingdom by Gin Phillips  3/5 stars

A Small Book About A Big Problem by Edward T. Welch  4/5 stars

The Sunlight Pilgrims by Jenni Fagan  3/5 stars

The Walls by Hollie Overton  3/5 stars

Descriptions & Prescriptions: A Biblical Perspective on Psychiatric Diagnoses and Medications by Michael R. Emlet

Fire Road: The Napalm Girl’s Journey through the Horrors of War to Faith, Forgiveness and Peace by Kim Phuc Phan Thi  4/5 stars

I have to say that my favorite books were Without Merit and How I Live Now. Colleen Hoover is one of my very favorite authors and although this book is a bit different from her others and has gotten mixed reviews, I really enjoyed it. How I Live Now, the movie, is one of my favorites and for some reason I didn’t realize that it was based on a book. When I figured it out I borrowed it from my library’s e-lending program and read it. It is a fairly short book and yes there are some people who don’t like it because of certain things, but I loved it. I actually wish that it had been a bit longer or that the author had gone on to write a sequel about the characters in the future, but alas she did not. I have stopped setting TBRs because I never stick to them so I plan on just catching up on ARCs this coming month, I have several from publishers and from NetGalley that I am eager to read. Then I am hoping to get to Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn. What was your favorite book your read this month and what’s on your TBR for November?
