September Wrap Up

So I only read a total of 5 books this month. The books at the top are from my personal TBR and I either own or I borrowed from the library. The books at the bottom are all ARCs or review copies sent to me from publishers.
Ruin & Rising by Leigh Bardugo 5/5 stars

The Infamous Ratsos: Project Fluffy by Kara LaReau 2/5 stars
Tear Me Apart by J.T. Elison 4/5 stars
Mindfulness Matters: A Guide to Mastering Life by Pax Tandon 4/5 stars
Bonjour Girl by Isabella Lafleche 3/5 stars
This is probably the lowest number of books I have read in a long time. We were re-doing the floors in all of our bedrooms this month, along with several other home projects, so I didn’t get as much reading in as I would have like. I did finish Ruin & Rising by Leigh Bardugo and I absolutely loved the series and the ending was perfection. Tear Me Apart by J.T. Elison was another good one I read this month. If you are a thriller or suspense lover, I would definitely add that one to your TBR.

I am currently half way through Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon. I love the Outlander series, but I swear not only are the books 900 pages, but the pages are very big. Every Outlander book I have read usually takes me weeks to finish. I love Gabaldon’s writing but as you know if you have read the series, it is very inclusive and very descriptive. Some reviews I have seen do not like her writing because of this, but I always have. Yes, there are a lot of things that could be cut out, but it just wouldn’t be the same. One of the reasons I love this series is because I can so easily picture every person and scene because of the author’s descriptions. I am hoping to be done with this in about a week. My TBR for October is fairly limited, my plan is to finally read Tower of Dawn; I previously started it and got distracted. Beyond that, I am hoping to read 1-2 ARCs and fit some scary Halloween books in there as well, just haven’t decided which ones yet. What was everyone’s favorite book they read during September?

I finally finished A Court of Mist and Fury! I didn’t have time to read at all in August because school but am making time for it again. I definitely need some recommendations for spooky Halloween books though so let us know about which ones you choose!
