Life has never been easy for the three Campbell sisters. Jess, Courtney, and Dani live on a remote ranch in Western Canada where they work hard and try to stay out of the way of their father’s fists. One night, a fight gets out of hand and the sisters are forced to go on the run, only to get caught in an even worse nightmare when their truck breaks down in a small town. Events spiral out of control and a chance encounter with the wrong people leaves them in a horrific and desperate situation. They are left with no choice but to change their names and create new lives. Eighteen years later, they are still trying to forget what happened that summer when one of the sisters goes missing and they are pulled back into their past.

So I added the synopsis from Those Girls but I don’t really want to go much more into the plot, because it is fairly hard to explain without including any spoilers. I read Never Let You Go by Chevy Stevens as an ARC last year and loved it, so I started slowly buying her other books. Those Girls is actually the first I have read since reading Never Let You Go. This one was recommended by lots of book friends so I figured I would give it a go. The book is divided into 3 sections and I really loved the first section but about half way into the second, I had already figured out exactly how the rest of the book was going to go. And although I really liked the characters, for girls who are supposed to be fairly self sufficient, they made some pretty bad decisions where the right course of action was pretty straight forward. . I liked the story, I liked the characters and I love the author’s writing. This story was just very predictable to me and I kept waiting for the big plot twist, but there never was one.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of Chevy Steven’s books in the future!
