Throwback Thursday

Welcome to another Throwback Thursday post. There are so many amazing books that I have read and would like to share with others. So I just scrolling through my “Read” list on Goodreads starting with my highest rated books. Every week I will add a few books I have really enjoyed with a brief review and I am hoping you might find a new favorite.

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn is one of my all time favorite books and was the first book I read from the author. By now, I am sure that many more people are aware of this book after HBO turned it into a limited series this summer. I watched it and I really enjoyed it, but of course the book is always better. This was one of the first thriller books I read when I got back into reading after college and it really stuck with me. To me, it is quite a shocking book, between the events and the characters. It also has one of the very best endings among the many thrillers I have read in recent years. I am eagerly waiting Flynn’s next novel release. If you haven’t read Sharp Objects, I highly recommend it.

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover is one of my very favorites books from the author and one of the first I read from her. Ugly Love is definitely more of a NA book, rather than YA, as some of her books are. It does contain more sex than are in most of her books, but I just love the main characters, Tate and Miles. Hoover is one of my favorite authors and just has this mind that comes up with the most amazing stories. I have actually been meaning to a re-read of Ugly Love for quite a while. If you haven’t read anything by the author before, I recommend starting with Maybe Someday or Confess. After that, read Ugly Love, you will not be disappointed!

Going back all through the top rated books on Goodreads makes me want to re-read so many books. I love the fact, that at least for me, if it has been a while since I read the book, often a re-read is almost like reading it for the first time.
