I haven’t written a personal update in a long time and since a lot of things have changed this year, I figured it was probably time. If we aren’t friends on Instagram (@mrsreadsbooks) you may have missed my lovely pregnancy announcement in February! My husband and I are very excited to be expecting our first child in the beginning of September. And we just found out at an ultrasound on Thursday that we are having a boy!
You may have noticed that both my reading and blogging have slowed down this year. Things have been busy and honestly I have been really tired. My pregnant brain also seems to be having trouble concentrating on fiction, which is quite odd for me. I did just read Into the Jungle by Erica Ferencik, which I loved! It was the first book that has really caught my attention in quite a while. I actually have a few ARCs from some of my very favorite authors but am afraid to read them in this current weird reading slump.
You also may have noticed that I have been reviewing quite a few additional children’s books every month, most of which come from a Christian publisher. One of the great things about being a book blogger is my son already has an amazing book collection and I work with some great publishing companies. Don’t worry, I will still have plenty of reviews for adult books, I just honestly have gotten fairly behind in both reading and blogging lately. Again, blame the pregnancy brain. We have also been trying to finish about 10 different projects around the house, so I am hoping once those are done, I can get back to reading & hopefully conquer this weird reading slump.
Next up on my TBR would be a re-read of Pet Semetary by Stephen King (I haven’t read it since I was in my early teens) and Riley Sager’s upcoming release, Lock Every Door. If we aren’t friends on Instragram, come find me, I love seeing everyone’s beautiful photos and chatting about books!
